Who We Are
After years working in the metal fabrication industry, father and sons team Andre, Andy and Steve set up ASA Fabs. With a request for a rather large fabrication from a major manufacturing company, with no machinery, no material and no factory, they set out to do the impossible. And they succeeded. Using the money from that first project, they secured their own small workshop and second-hand fabrication equipment.
Working flexibly to offer customers fast turnaround times and investing heavily back into the business, ASA Fabs has prospered, grown and moved to new facilities, maintaining an excellent reputation within the manufacturing industry and with customers.
Our Staff
ASA Fabs has 10 skilled and fully trained staff with over 60 years combined experience in their field. With ongoing training on new manufacturing processes, technologies, techniques and safety aspects, our workers remain at the cutting edge. Andre, sons Andy and Steve, and the rest of the team have worked together throughout their careers, collaborating and sharing knowledge and skills for the benefit of customers.
Continuous Investment and Training
Since 2011, we have invested ceaselessly in our machinery, premises and workforce. While many other companies chose to scale back operations as a results of the pandemic, we saw it as an opportunity to increase the scope of what we offer our customers. Most recently, this has included:
- £1.2 million investment in the Amada Ensis RI fibre tube laser machine
- New modern 7500 sq. ft premises
- ISO 9001 accreditation
- A brand-new website
Advanced Machinery
By investing in new technology while also retaining some more traditional equipment and methods, we are able to provide a comprehensive, flexible and unusually broad range of services for our customers. Our machinery includes:
- Amada Ensis RI fibre laser cutting machine
- Amada HFE3i hydraulic drive press brake
- Amada HFE press brake
- 1 TIG and 2 MIG welding machines
- Plus, tube bender, bandsaw, fly presses and more
State-of-the-art Software
We use advanced Amada SheetWorks software to finalise sheet metal parts and assemblies with precision. SheetWorks can automatically create unfold drawings, with all the related CAD/CAM attributes, using 3D visualisation for design, development and modelling to greatly enhance overall quality and efficiency.
A combination of SheetWorks and our project management software allows us to plan a project well in advance of machining, ensuring our laser and press brake machines run at the highest speed and optimum level, and that all the correct resources are in place for every project.
